About our lab

Lab facilities

Located in DC3591 of University of Waterloo's Davis Centre, the HCI Lab serves as an office space for our graduate students, and a hub for collaboration. The lab was specifically designed with the needs of HCI research in mind, and includes a design-studio inspired war room (pictured right). This space is used for our weekly lab meetings and all manner of collaborative work. It includes a whiteboard-wall for group brainstorming, a cork-wall for posting of mock-ups and low-fidelity prototypes, and a back-lit projector for demos, presentations, and all manner of group collaboration on digital documents.

The student office space was also designed to support collaboration between lab members. The space is open, with no internal walls, nearly all furniture is movable, and each student has a personal workspace.
